From local strength to global power – we are joining AIS

Jan Møllerhaug Ovun

We are excited to share a significant milestone for Ovun: We are now part of the global industrial group AIS.

This is not the end of a journey – but the beginning of a new chapter. With AIS, we gain the strength, capacity and international reach to scale faster, explore new markets and continue delivering high-quality solutions – all while staying true to our commitment to sustainable, Norwegian manufacturing.

– “With AIS as our new owner, we gain both the strength and capacity to take the company further. We can scale faster, reach new markets internationally and at the same time continue our commitment to sustainable and circular production in Norway. Our new factory at Rudshøgda opens as planned in September, marking a new chapter for us,” says our CEO Jan Møllerhaug.

A company in transformation

Over the past few years, we’ve undergone a significant transformation. In 2014, 80 percent of our revenues came from oil and gas. Today, that share has been reduced to 40 percent – and we’ve built a more diversified and future-ready platform in renewable energy, navigation, maritime safety and advanced industrial solutions.

Since 2021, we’ve achieved over 20 percent annual revenue growth, reaching NOK 212 million in 2024. We’ve also delivered solid and steadily improving operational results over the same period.

In September, we open our new factory at Rudshøgda – a clear step forward in our ambition to strengthen sustainable and circular production in Norway.

Continuity and confidence for our partners

AIS will continue operations at all our existing locations in Åndalsnes, Innlandet, Molde and Lysaker. Our leadership team and all employees remain in place, ensuring continuity and reliability for our customers, partners and suppliers.

– “Ovun has built a solid platform with high customer loyalty, innovative products and documented quality over time. We see great opportunities in combining this with our global presence and experience. Together we will develop solutions that create lasting value – both in established and emerging industries,” says Andrew Bennion, CEO of AIS.

AIS is a global leader in insulation and passive fire protection for offshore and energy applications. With over 750 employees in 12 countries and annual revenues approaching NOK 2 billion, we are joining a strong international network.

Thank you – and onward

We would like to thank our owners and board for their long-term support and strategic guidance, and especially our entire team for their remarkable efforts over the past years. We wouldn’t be here without you. And to our customers and partners – thank you for your continued trust. We look forward to the road ahead, now as part of AIS.
