The PP UW 120 is a 2-phase generator made for continuous power generation in underwater installations, typically installed on buoys used in seismic surveys.
The propeller and the generator encapsulation are made of plastic material, and propeller shaft and mounting sleeves are made of DUPLEX steel quality. External anodic protection of these generators is therefore normally not required because of the high grade of corrosion protection in the generator design.
The permanent magnet technology and brushless operation will provide a durable power supplied in a 2-phase output.
The PP UW 120 generators are delivered with propeller, cable and connector for both 12 and for 24V systems. To easily separate these versions, the 12V generators have Yellow color and the 24V have Red color.
CABLE AND CONNECTOR
- Standard connectors used are 4 pin connectors type AGM 1104M and ILF4 (Phase A and Phase B).
- The cable is partly protected by a reinforced hose.
PROPELLERS
- The standard plastic propeller will be optimum for low speed operations in 2 – 6 knots.
ELECTRONICS
- Waterproof battery chargers for interfacing the generators and an active test device for testing generators are available from Ovun AS
