PartnerPlast contributes to the green transition in the North Sea
As a part of the work reducing the emissions in oil & gas production, several oil platforms in the North Sea will be powered with electricity from shore. PartnerPlast has recently delivered complete systems for protection of power cables intended for this purpose.
The cable protection systems (CPS) have been delivered to an international cable supplier and scheduled to be installed during Spring 2021.
The delivery consisted of «Centralizer Clamps» and «Passive Seals with Nose Cones» as well as «Bend Restrictors», all manufactured using both polyurethane and cast iron. The systems are approved for use after passing comprehensive tests and qualifications. The majority of the products have been manufactured at our polyurethane factory in Moelv, Norway.
“We are proud to have completed such an important project and contributed to lowering the emissions caused from Norwegian oil production”, says Charl Burger, Business Development Manager for Oil & Gas at PartnerPlast. “It has been challenging and demanding as well as educational”, Charl continues. “PartnerPlast is currently building a project organization to be prepared for even greater tasks in the future.”
